Ilangaratne was a politician representing the Sri Lanka Freedom Party over three decades, but also authored several novels. This novel, Lasanda, was adapted into a movie. Here’s a song from the film!

I was so excited to see a huge collection of Sinhala books at the University of Chicago library. I visited for 5 days and took thousands of photographs! I will start posting more frequently so that I can share them with you all. 🙂
