A little too late, I realized that the Muslim celebration of Eid had come and gone. In searching for Eid-related content to post, I stumbled upon some Urdu e-card sites. I honestly find e-cards really interesting – like little time-capsules of internet graphic history – the way the designers use typography, sound, animation, color…

Here are just a few samples of e-card treatments of the Nastaʿlīq script – I wonder if Urdu speakers feel that the sparkles and drop-shadows detract from the sacred aura of the script…  they do in my mind! Maybe that’s a good thing!?
