Quad-script school sign

In Devanagari, Gurmukhi, Urdu by HindiRinny1 Comment

English, Hindi, Urdu, and Gurmukhi share the duty of labeling a secondary school. I wonder what the language(s) of instruction are!

Note that the Urdu only occupies one line. It seems like this is the best solution for the cascading Nastaliq script, which needs plenty of vertical space in order to for it to appear as dense and prominent as the other scripts. Well done, sign painter, ‘Shakeel Art’.

  1. The word for राजकीय / ਰਾਜਕੀਯ in Urdu is translated as گورنمنٹ
(Gornmant), and this is when Urdu has its own word سِیاست
    for this! 🙂
