ਕੋਲਾਂ ਕੂਕਦੀਆਂ Kolan Kukdian, by ਕਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ Karamjit Singh.
How refreshing to see some hand-lettered Gurmukhi titling! I have seen very little variation in Gurmukhi text and display fonts thus far in my searches, so book covers like these get me so excited! I love the stroke modulation in the title and the fun bit of curl going on with the vowel strokes in the author’s name.
It was incredibly hard to find a translation of this book’s title. What I DO know, is that this is a book of folk songs. Dr. Karamjit Singh is still around – so maybe I should just ask him what it means!
* News! * Old blog friend RGXSingh says that this translates to “Nightingales Chirping” (or singing). Thank you so much!
